For my niece

I'm working on something that's full of many elements (will soon post it here) and this was one of the elements but I decided to extract it from that other thing because I didn't feel it suited that other thing anymore when I finished it =P And as I thought it looked like my niece, it'll be dedicated to her, little Erica, she'll be 4 on March, 10th. :D

Tomei o hábito de fazer screen shots quando tô vendo algum filme ou série e vejo alguma pose interessante, cores bonitas, cenários... qualquer coisa impressionante que possa ser usada como referência. As duas moças na página rabiscada são de refs de Bones.
Também fiz um autoretrato generoso, huahuahuahua xD
Praticando o "feijão".. pra construção de figuras... e círculos, ovais, linhas... indo de esquerda-direita e vice-versa. Também figuras 3D... porque minha representação de corpos 3D é muito podre. Hhhahahahaha

Weird looking lady

depois do almoço de ontem, falando com a Glória e seu filho ainda, discutindo arte, dos separatista de Catalonia e da cava (champagne) de lá vs. a de Valencia, no meio de um sorvete negro e branco, eu comecei a desenhar una moça com cara de surpresa depois que ela falou que eu devia estudar na Belas de Madri... Joder.

Ainda tá torta essa moça... Vocês me enchem por sempre desenhar alguém que parece comigo... mas fica essa porcaria aí quando tento outras feições...

Starting with value studies...

So I went to have lunch at that lady's house today, she's my host's mom and also graduated in Fine Arts in Madrid. If you recall I had asked her if she had an anatomy book I could borrow to study and so she found an old one date back in the 1940's with some interesting material, but I'm afraid it's too theoretical for my taste, I could become a physical therapist after reading that if I survived the hayfever!

Anyway... We started discussing art and she's extremely prejudiced against digital medias. She feels like it's the computer doing everything and that it lacks something, but obviously she hasn't really seen many digital paintings... So I told her I'd show her some amazing things and would also let her try my tablet to see if she'd change her mind... She preffers traditional media and paints some awesome surrealistic and abstract environments... She also does some mean sketching with coloured pencils...

So I told her I'd surprise her. I challenge myself to doing that. And I also asked her for some assignments as homework... So I'm doing +10 value studies and +5 coloured still life studies. This one is a piece of the one I'm doing now, just painting stuff that's lying around on my desk... But it's 3 am, I should sleep =]
